Suzhou Electrical Apparatus Science Research Institute Co., Ltd. (EETI), founded in 1965, is a large independent third-party research and testing institute in Wuzhong District, Suzhou, and hosts the China National Center for Quality Supervision and Test of Electrical Apparatus Products and the China National Center for Quality Supervision and Test of Smart Grid Medium & High-voltage Assemblies. Accredited by CNAS and an IECEE CB testing laboratory, EETI has grown into a comprehensive base for power generation, transmission/distribution and high/low-voltage electrical apparatus testing. Its EMC laboratory is built around a German 10-metre standard semi-anechoic chamber and electromagnetic shielding chamber, with additional EMC instrumentation from the United States, Germany and Switzerland, and serves high- and low-voltage electrical equipment, household appliances, IT equipment, automotive electric/electronic products, and industrial and medical equipment. EETI also operates what it describes as China's largest seismic test laboratory for electrical apparatus, a CNAS-approved wind-power generator/converter test station, electric power fittings and RoHS laboratories, and covers marine, nuclear-power and locomotive/mining electrical apparatus.
